A Poem: A Wandering Glimpse of Fuengirola in Late Fall
11:45 am
A rain jacket
A cool breeze
The tide
Palm trees
New kinds of green birds that I have never seen before, making one gigantic nest in a palm tree
Blue Striped towels
Purple flowers growing wild against White House’s
Terracotta roofs
Quiet
Yard work
A highway by the sea
A lighthouse
Strong coffee
Amazing bread
Even better chocolate
Mopeds
Pedestrians
A gray horizon that blends in with the sea
Ash trays
Wicker chairs
Clothes hanging out to dry on every balcony and roof
Little Green bananas hanging on trees
Ripe oranges and lemons asking to be picked
Supermercados with fresh fruit and fresh dirty eggs
Small streets
No to go cups..you’re here to stay
Stuffed churros and chocolate
Kisses for hello
Kisses for goodbye
Mountains hidden by low hanging clouds
Donkey taxis
Trains
Siestas
Amigos
Familia
Buenos Tardes
Adios
